If you take your foot off of the gas you’ll start to slow down, and will eventually stop. In order to continue at the same speed you have to keep constant pressure on the accelerator… Your networking efforts are just like that gas pedal. If you want consistent results you’ll need to apply consistent pressure. Take your foot off of the accelerator and you’ll lose momentum. Of course you can always put the pedal to the metal!
