Value

posted on January 1, 2010

"I created my Network In Austin profile in October and have changed nothing else about the way in which I market my website so I attribute the dramatic increase in traffic to my visibility on the NIA website.   Because I used the point to drive visibility this has increased the amount of traffic driven to my website.   It has also driven my name to the top page of Google for many searches." It’s Better to Give Than to Receive

posted on December 29, 2009

In my last post I wrote about "Getting What You Want." In networking the other side of receiving is giving, and what your mother told you as a kid is absolutely true: "It's better to give than to receive." Hopefully you have found this to be reality in life as you've grown up. Read more »

Your Clients Are Part of Your Network Too!

posted on November 15, 2009

It's amazing to me how often people forget about their clients and how important those relationships are. They spend tons of time an energy working to bring on those clients and as soon as they've accomplished that they move on to the next one. Your client relationships are beyond valuable. It's a generally agreed upon principle that it costs more to get a new client than it does to keep an old one. So let's talk about how to strengthen your client relationships. Read more »

Networking Social Capital

posted on November 9, 2009

Based on some of the conversations I have with people about networking it seems that an awful lot of people want to keep score. To be really honest I sometimes wish there was a way to keep score as well. In reality a simple score keeping mechanism would never be able to keep up with the complexities. Read more »
