What's a Referral Worth?

posted on January 1, 2010

Network in Austin membership is an incredible value, but it’s not free. While it costs nothing to read much of the site, to enjoy full member benefits you will need your credit card.

A subscription costs $10 a month. Pretty darn affordable.

New members signing up for a year only have to pay like $7 a month.

But if that price point gives you pause, please consider the following.
Do you make more than $10 an hour doing what you do?

What’s a typical client engagement amount to for your business?

  • More than $85 a pop?
  • More than $120 a pop?
  • Over time, easily that much, right?

Do you have a website?

  • What are your hosting costs per month?
  • Per year?
  • Don’t you think it’s worth it?

Don’t have a website?

  • What would it cost you to build one?
  • You’d easily pay a good web firm $100 an hour or more.
  • Don’t forget hosting fees.

Food for thought.

But look at the bigger-picture questions, too.

  • What’s a referral worth?
  • How do you put a dollar value on your next key relationship?
  • What does that one introduction to that one individual who can enable you to be more successful mean to your net worth and overall happiness?
  • Why would you not invest $10 a month in your own networking potential?

We could go on, but won’t. The real relationships, real referrals, real business you’ll create here are worth way more than the price of admission.
