Beyond Personal Branding: Selling Yourself

posted on January 26, 2010

Just so we're crystal clear I'm not talking about prostitution here!

What I'm talking about is what you do personally to sell yourself. Whether you're a consultant, a speaker, looking to advance your career or land your next job you're going to have to sell yourself. Even if you've got an incredible network who made the perfect referral and got you in the door as the best and only solution it's still going to be up to YOU to close the deal.

This topic came up in a conversation I had recently with a member, and I thought it was extremely relevant. Just as there's a huge difference between Public Relations and Sales inside an organization, there's also a massive difference between personal branding and ultimately selling yourself.

Now I'm going to cop out a little bit and not fully share my thoughts on the topic... yet.

In the mean time I've invited Gary O'Neal, Founding Partner of Coolhires and President of Talent Branders to help us further explore the topic at our next NetStorming event on February 8th.

Come join us for this event and learn more about how to effectively sell yourself, and then take advantage of a little practice time during the 2 rounds of NetStorming that will follow Gary's talk.

Happy Networking!
