1.       Insurance is a one sided contract, you can cancel at anytime without penalty and will receive a prorated refund within 2 weeks.

2.       Auto & Home owners insurance should be shopped every year; loyalty discounts in most cases do not save you extra money.

3.       All whole life or cash value policies should be replaced by a term life policy.

4.       You should always carry more than state minimum limits on your auto insurance.

5.       Defensive driving is worth the 6 hours. It costs around $25, and will give you a 10% discount on your auto insurance for 3 years.

6.       Double check your deductible on your home owner’s insurance. A 1% deductible is very expensive in most cases.

7.       25% of drivers do not have insurance. Always carry uninsured motorists insurance to protect you and your family

8.       If you do not own your home, you should carry renter’s insurance to protect your belongings, it is very inexpensive.

9.       If you have children, you should have life insurance on them. It is very inexpensive, guarantees their insurability and covers final expenses in the event of a tragedy.

10.   If you have medical insurance, make sure your auto insurance has Personal Injury Protection (PIP) as opposed to medical payments. If you do not have medical insurance, make sure you have medical payments on your auto policy.
