Lettting Go- Not soo Easy is it?
posted on August 23, 2010

Thru the years, I have studied alot of self introspective techniques and one of the most important skills is the skill of "letting go". It is not so easy, as a matter of fact depending on how your mind works it may be very difficult. Case in point, have you have had an experience and it makes you mad, frustrated, angry, emotional, etc?
For sure , we can all related to this type of experience. So what can you actually do, how can you "release" this tension. Think of it as your mind locking onto something like a vise just locked in tighter and tighter and you just can't seem to let this situation go. Most of this comes from your subconscious, not your conscious mind and if you were wondering why it is so tough to move on, this is why.
Point: Our subconscious is much more powerful than our conscious minds are. So logically, we say to ourselves, ok..I am letting this go and guess what it doesn't go away. Reason? Our conscious and subconscious are not always in sync or on the same page.
Ok, so what to do, how to do it.
1. Try open focus- open focus means you open your focus to "everything" around you, from your breathing to the surroundings that are around you , take it all in, really focus on everything. You will be surprised how fast the emotional turmoil alleviates itself. It is sort of like meditation.
2. Take out a piece of paper (Abraham Lincoln did this), and write the nastiest letter letting all of the feeling you have out on paper. Then tear the paper up and throw it away.
3. Listen to self hypnosis tapes or subliminal tapes when you go to sleep at night, if you are a deep sleeper this works great. Your subconscious will hear the messages even though you are asleep. Really, try it , it works.
Life is short , being at peace is much more enjoyable than being in turmoil. It is something I try to work on every day , it isn't easy but nothing worthwhile ever is!
