First Steps - NetworkInAustin.com 2.0

posted on October 19, 2009

Welcome to the NEW NetworkInAustin.com! After over 4 years of conceptual work and literally hundreds of hours in development I'm so glad we're ready to share this new technology with you.

If you're reading this post and it's still relatively new then please excuse some of the development dust. We're still working hard on getting all of the Phase 1 features in place and there may still be a few relatively obvious things missing.

In the mean time I wanted to share with you how to quickly get up and running on the new website and what you should try and do first.

1) Have a look around! Take a peek at some of the other Member Profiles, our list of Local Organizations, and our Networking Events which you can now search and filter based on what you're looking for.

2) Start by completing your Member Profile. The more information and details you add the better.

3) Next browse and search through the Local Organizations list to find those groups that you're a member of and select "I am a member"

4) Check out some Upcoming Events and on the event detail page you'll have the option to indicate that you're either interested or already registered for some of these upcoming events.

Those are the basics. From there you might consider writing your first blog post on the Member's Blog, and we always appreciate your referring your friends and telling your social networks what you think of these new tools.

This is just the beginning, there's actually more to come. Get engaged and enjoy the ride.

Happy Networking!
