Coaches need Coaches too

posted on March 23, 2011

In my experience in the personal and professional development industry, I have learned many important lessons, but one that stands out among the rest is that you must be a product of the product!

In my business, if I am working with someone on clarifying their goals, but I myself do not have clearly defined goals, that in my opinion is unethical. I constantly talk to people about answering the call to leadership, but do I answer that call? When the opportunity to step up and be a leader presents itself, do I look the other way or do I step up? As a professional coach and a leader striving to make a positive difference, I try to step up.

As a coach, being a product of the product means having a coach yourself. How can you sell someone on coaching when you do not believe enough in it to have a coach yourself? I have a few different coaches. One that has been my coach for my entire life, one that I talk to about my business, one that I talk to about my personal and spiritual life, and one for my speaking career. I believe in coaching!

If you are a coach and you do not have a coach, I encourage you to find a good one. Your coahcing business may be doing well, but it can be better! You can be better! Believe in coaching! It works! You should know, you are a coach.
