2010 Homeless Count and Survey

posted on January 29, 2010

It's time once again for Front Steps' annual Homeless Count and Survey. With the Federal Census coming up, it is common to hear people talking about how important and difficult it is to make sure everyone is counted. This is even more true for people who have no address! Below is a call for volunteers for this year's count which has been rescheduled to next Tuesday. Details below. (This is not an endeavor affiliated with the Census Bureau or the official Census, but the goals are similar.)

The 2010 Homeless Count and Survey has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Feb 2nd from 4-10pm, due to the weather. We hope that you will be able to join us, as we are still in need of many volunteers!

From the website - http://www.traviscountyhomelesscount.org/

“VOLUNTEERING ON  FEB. 2ND - We still need about 200 volunteers to conduct the Homeless Count next Tuesday. If you had originally volunteered for January 28, 2010 please confirm to your team leader as soon as possible if you can make it next Tuesday, February 2nd.

We are also accepting new volunteers! If you had not registered previously, you can still register by filling out this form: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QFPZ6YF. New volunteers can watch an orientation video and read the Volunteer Handbook found on the Training Material section of this website. New volunteers will not have to attend a training and will be paired with other volunteers that have received training and have experience conducting the Count.”

We hope to see you Tuesday for this important event!

Please email austinhomelesscount@gmail.com for any further questions.

Thank you,
