About

Scott Ingram, Founder & CEO of NetworkInAustin.com, 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur, expert networker, and sales executive. NetworkInAustin.com is the premier networking site for professionals and executives in Central Texas. Mr. Ingram has a passion for connecting people and helping others learn to develop their relationship building and networking skills. In 1999, Mr. Ingram founded Grey Matter Technologies, a professional IT services company focused primarily on building network infrastructure for small businesses. He subsequently sold the business in 2004. In 2004, Mr. Ingram relocated to Austin, Texas where he quickly realized that he’d left his biggest asset behind in California, and it wasn’t the real estate. His extensive network had been the secret to his first company’s success and he didn’t know anyone in Austin; so he quickly set out to build a local network. As a newcomer to Austin, he quickly realized that there was both a need and demand for an organization that could track and communicate all the unique and varied networking events in the Austin area. In 2005 Network In Austin was born. Scott’s work has been featured in the Orange County Register and in Rotarian Magazine. Network in Austin has been featured in the Austin Statesman and the Austin Business Journal. He is also extremely proud to be a Leadership Austin alumni. Mr. Ingram resides in Austin, Texas with his wife and two daughters. He earned his bachelors degree in information technology and business systems analysis from the University of Phoenix.

Welcome to the NEW NetworkInAustin.com! After over 4 years of conceptual work and literally hundreds of hours in development I'm so glad we're ready to share this new technology with you. If you're reading this post and it's still relatively new then please excuse some of the development dust. We're still working hard on getting all of the Phase 1 features in place and there may still be a few relatively obvious things missing. In the mean time I wanted to share with you how to quickly get up and running on the new website and what you should try and do first. Read more »

On a train from Boston to NYC. Deciding if I prefer this to JetBlue. Tough call (free wifi, don't have to take off my shoes)
Big news @Bazaarvoice today: Tom Meredith, former Dell CFO (and much more) joins our board! http://bv-url.com/np9f
It's true. I pretty much only tweet when I'm traveling these days and it's really not very entertaining. (To-do: say something witty by fri)
Colleagues stuck in traffic in Boston (not exactly a shocker). STARVING! Egg/bagel thing at Dunkin doesn't take me thru the whole day.
The national anthem has been sung, the tarps have been removed from the field. Starting to look like we may enjoy a Red Sox game afterall.
Inside Fenway where it's baseball vs. rain. Hoping baseball prevails so we can watch the Red Sox.

Met my quota of knowing at least one other person on a plane either into or out of Austin. :) Can't wait to get home to kiss the wife & kids
Good morning St. Louis! Has anybody else noticed that I only seem to write updates when I'm traveling? *sigh*
